The Water-Cooled Exhaust Surge Tank System includes a Flex Exhaust Manifold, a Surge Tank and the Cooling Water Spray and Drain System, those are connected with the octane test engines. The Exhaust Surge Tank System is used for eliminating resonance pulses and back pressure during octane rating operation.Resonance pulses and back pressure may affect the stability of knock intensity signal.
Eliminating the interference of the variables makes the octane test result more consistent and accurate.
Meanwhile, this exhaust system can effectively reduce noise and air pollution.

SINPAR FTC-M2 Octane Test Engines are equipped with the Water-Cooled Exhaust Surge Tank System as a standard configuration.

Installation Structure of Exhaust Surge Tank

This Installation Structure of Exhaust Surge Tank System is suitable for various layout options for fuel octane test engines laboratory.
The exhaust surge tank system is supplied with the cooling water drainage system with a water spray ring assembly affixed on the flange.
We recommend the use of the exhaust surge tank and its exhaust components as their design has been proven to perform with the octane test engines as a whole.
